Colostrum is the first milk produced by mammals in the first days after giving birth. It is more yellowish than regular milk and contains higher levels of protein, minerals and fat, as well as antibodies.

Colostrum powder is a high-protein product, with protein providing at least 20% of its energy content. Protein contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass and the maintenance of normal bones. More than half of the proteins in colostrum are immunoglobulins (IgA, IgG1, IgG2, IgM). Bovine colostrum also contains bioactive compounds such as proline-rich peptides (PRP), lactoferrin (LF) and growth factors (IGF-I, IGF-II, TGF-β, EGF), which play roles in immune function and tissue development.

Crude protein 56%; crude fat 20.8%.

Feeding recommendation

Give 1/8 teaspoon of colostrum powder per 11 kg of body weight once daily.

Ideally give on an empty stomach, but it can also be mixed with a small amount of yoghurt, kefir or broth. Give at least 30 minutes before feeding.

Use for at least one month, then as needed.

Note: Some dogs are sensitive to dairy products. As colostrum is milk-derived, sensitive dogs may react to it. Although colostrum is generally tolerated by dogs with beef intolerance, some dogs may also have allergic reactions. If your dog is sensitive to beef, ensure that it tolerates dairy products.
