Täpi

Sipsik is a 3-year-old Chihuahua who is very picky about food. Since puppyhood, she had been used to eating quite fatty dry food, and there was real concern that this kind of food could have a negative effect on her weight. When a dog weighs only 2.5 kg, excess weight can become an issue not in kilograms, but already in just a few hundred grams.
Sipsik was used to foods that contained salt, so switching her over to Winner Plus food was not easy at all. We tried Lamb Mini, Salmon Mini and Adult Mini, but she did not really want any of them. She would rather steal food from the bigger dog than eat her own. The only thing that suited Sipsik from the very beginning was Winner Plus wet food.
Since it was clear that any change in food affected her digestion, we continued with Winner Plus dry foods. Now, 2 years later, we have settled on the Holistic Lamb Mini or Salmon Mini kibble, which Sipsik eats very happily. Once a day she eats only kibble, and once a day she also gets wet food mixed with her dry food. It is good to see that her weight is in good shape and that she has not had any digestive problems anymore.
In addition, Sipsik’s absolute favourite has become the beef sticks sold at FendaF, which she could eat endlessly.
For such a small dog as a Chihuahua, it is very important to find exactly the right and healthy food, and thanks to Piret and FendaF, we have found it.

Täpi

I have been a dog owner practically my whole life. For the past 23 years, our family has had Bull Terriers. Unfortunately, one of the characteristics of these dogs is a tendency towards different allergies, which can accompany them throughout their lives.
Our current dog, Täpi, has been struggling with allergies basically since puppyhood, and by now this gentleman has reached the respectable age of 10. Up until now, we got help from the veterinary clinic, where he was simply prescribed yet another course of hormone treatment, and for a while his health would be fine again. Unfortunately, hormone treatment inevitably also led to weight gain, as hormones increase appetite. On top of that, the treatment bills were enormous.
Today I can confidently say that it would have been cheaper to give him more expensive but clean food from the very beginning than to constantly pay veterinary bills and see my dog unhappy.
2021. This spring, our dog’s health became very poor, and at one point we were seriously afraid that Täpi might not be with us for much longer. I had tried different dog foods before and had always been rather sceptical about the idea that the right food could help a dog. Piret managed to make me understand that many of a dog’s problems can start with the wrong food, and she recommended trying Winner Plus dry food.
Since Täpi has always been very picky about food and does not usually eat the same food for very long, we started trying different dry foods and also added wet food alongside them.
Now, 8 months later, Täpi is in good health, relatively active, and has no longer needed hormone tablets. Among the dry foods, Täpi’s favourites have become the Salmon & Rice kibble and Cold Pressed Sensitive. Of course, wet food is added to the dry food, and after breakfast there is the mandatory treat.
I would never have imagined that a suitable complete food could change a dog’s life so much. That is why I can confidently recommend FendaF to everyone I know as a place where your pet is truly cared for.

Dante and I found our way to FendaF thanks to our good friend Triinu. During one of our walks, Triinu told us about natural treats that the world’s pickiest dog and his long-suffering owner could try. Knowing Dante, she suggested that beef testicles, as an exclusive treat, might be a safe bet. So that was exactly what we ordered first, and in the end we did manage to finish them, with a little help from Elli, Triinu’s dog.
Dante is the world’s pickiest eater. Even with treats, it takes effort – not everything (read: most things) is deemed suitable for consumption. The opening of the showroom helped us find treats that work for us, and through our visits we have also learned what, in addition to the staples (gullet and udder), catches his interest from time to time. But the greatest value for us has actually been the change in food.
Before switching to Natural Plus Active almost 9 months ago, diarrhoea was a frequent and annoying visitor in Dante’s life. On several occasions, Dante needed paste to get through the problem, and a couple of times he also needed treatment. In addition, Dante had difficulty maintaining his weight, especially in summer.
After we were given 3 options to try and Dante, unlike in the showroom, chose Active at home, not even catching mice or drinking seawater has managed to cause any serious trouble for his stomach. Looking at Dante’s condition and coat, we are happy with our choice, and it is good to know that the Sensitive food from the same range also suits us if we ever need to switch.
Our experience with the owners of FendaF’s main characters has been nothing but positive, which is why we have recommended, and will continue to recommend, that owners bring their four-legged friends to the showroom. Even the pickiest pet can find the most suitable treat there on their own, with the help of Piret and Irene.
And with their advice, support, and testing both on site and at home, you can also find the food that keeps your dog happy and healthy.

Freia

Freia is a young mixed-breed dog with a wonderfully chaotic mind who, among other things, loves FendaF and believes that the cat exists to produce treats for her. But why does she love FendaF? In truth, she does not really love FendaF – she actually loves Piret.
Piret is exactly Freia’s kind of person, because her eyes light up at the same things Freia’s do. High on both of their lists of favourite topics are dried bull pizzles and… I honestly cannot even remember what other oddities… lungs wrapped in pig intestine?
After the first time I met Piret’s enthusiastic and lively character at FendaF, Freia would not leave me alone anymore. Of course I had not come home empty-handed: you have to bring something back as a gift for your best friend… even if walking through Peetri with dried animal parts in your hands is slightly gross.
But you are ready to do anything for a friend, right. And Freia was immediately waiting for me at the door with great enthusiasm: “Whaddid you bring, whaddid you bring!? Oh, this kind of stuff? Okay-okay, give it here! What do I have to doooo, heeeelp!”
And that meant I could no longer go to FendaF without Freia – and Piret would not allow it anyway. So, with Freia washed and groomed, we went to visit Piret at FendaF. The plan was to buy cold-pressed chicken kibble. But as soon as I let Freia explore the showroom, she had already inhaled a whole pile of pork treats.
That raised a question for Piret: maybe chicken was not actually the right choice for Freia, and pork was. Thought of – tested. Piret offered Freia both options at the same time. Both were eaten, of course, but there it was: Freia liked the grunting option more than the clucking ones. And honestly, who likes cluckers anyway? I understand her.
Freia gave Piret a few more sweet kisses, and we left with the pork kibble. And now I get no peace at all. I had to hide Freia’s Kong, because she keeps chasing me with it and demanding more. No, wait. She is throwing it at me!
That is exactly what a dog looks like when the food she has been offered truly tastes good.
P.S. I suspect Freia thinks about Piret often. She thinks about the kisses she gave her and cannot wait for the next visit. I think she dreams of hiking in the forest together with Piret. I am jealous :D.

Fenton and Pekwa

I have been a dog owner for decades, and at the moment I have 2 dogs: a 9.5-year-old Labrador and a 4.5-year-old German Shepherd. Unfortunately, throughout my life I have been the kind of dog owner who has had different experiences with all sorts of dog illnesses and problems. Luckily, these experiences have not been too severe, but they have still made me understand how important it is what a dog eats.
My journey towards paying closer attention to dogs’ nutrition actually began when I met Piret. Until then, I had been a completely ordinary dog owner who bought dry dog food either based on my own gut feeling or from veterinary clinics, because at that time there was a common belief that clinic food was the best food.
Thanks to Piret’s knowledge and experience, which reached me through our discussions, I have radically changed my perspective. Food for a dog must be high-quality and complete. I will be honest: I will never feed my dogs a raw diet, simply because I do not have the time for it. And now I understand that raw feeding is not just a chunk of meat, minced meat, an egg and some vegetables – it is proper science.
What matters is that the dog gets everything it needs, and I know that I cannot guarantee that myself. However, today I am much wiser about what to look for when feeding a dog dry food.
My Pekwa is a Labrador who has had an excellent appetite his whole life, and weight has also been an ongoing issue. About 5 years ago, we were advised to switch to a metabolic food, which did keep his weight nicely under control for years. But it came with one problem: the amount of stool was enormous. During a 5 km hiking trail, there would be 3 – sometimes even 4 – large piles. At the time, I did not really know to notice anything, because, well, a big dog poops a lot 😊.
Pekwa started eating Winner Plus Light Senior, and after that I could not stop being amazed. The amount of stool became twice as small. At first it felt strange. But now I understand: he is absorbing all the nutrients, and when I looked at what the previous food contained, I understood very well where those amounts had been coming from.
My Fenton is a quirky little character. When it comes to food, I had struggled with him from the very first day he came to us. No kibble seemed to suit him, and he did not want raw meat either, and still is not particularly interested in it.
He has also always been quite skinny. He still is, but beef fat powder has worked wonders, and Fenton is no longer too bony. I was constantly worried because, after all, he had to eat. I bought and tried a large part of the dry dog foods available in Estonia and eventually found Wolf kibble from Germany that suited him. He ate it for about 2 years, until Winner Plus came into our lives.
I will be honest, making the switch was difficult because the Wolf kibble had a very high salt content, and just like with children, it is not easy to wean them off salty food. Eventually, Fenton accepted Winner Plus kibble, and today he happily eats several different varieties. Performance has also helped him reach a normal weight. It no longer hurts to pet him 😃.
And now, supplements. I have always been rather sceptical about all kinds of supplements. I did not take them myself, nor did I give them to my dogs. That was simply how I was.
Until Piret recommended chlorella for Pekwa’s ear problems. His ears were constantly dirty, even when I cleaned them every other day. I really did not believe it would help. I put off ordering it for quite a while, but eventually I had to choose between going to the vet or trying chlorella. Since similar problems had previously been treated with antibiotics, I decided to give it a try.
I was genuinely surprised when, after about 3 weeks, Pekwa’s ears were clean. Apparently, it was just as Piret had said: an overgrowth of yeast.
Now that I have seen real results, I feel confident giving my dogs supplements such as colostrum, chlorella and, of course, Arthro-Elastin, which has helped Pekwa’s joints that were affected by Lyme disease considerably.
I am very grateful to Piret for doing what she does. I am a much happier dog owner because my dogs have genuinely received the help they needed.
My advice is: be open-minded! We often think we know everything and can be sceptical about things, but sometimes it is worth listening, trying and experimenting. I really like the way Piret puts it: “It’s not going to make anything worse anyway.”
